Senator Yeckel's bill would force voters to show photo I-Ds to be able to vote.
And it would allow provisional ballots for those whose voting eligibility was questioned.
Representative Jim Seigfreid of Marshall is sponsoring the corresponding house bill, which does not contain those two measures.
Both the senate and house bills allow people to vote up to 14 days before the election, and allow election judges to come from other counties.

Representative Jim Seigfreid from Marshall is sponsoring the House version of the bill.
But he is concerned some voters don't have photo I-Ds.
Yeckel's senate bill also allows provisional ballots.

The bill includes measures that allow people to vote up to 14 days before an election, and allow judges to come from other counties.
The bill did not pass last year, but Yeckel still thinks it's worthwhile.
A similar bill is being introduced in the House.
