House Foundation Formula funding prevails in joint conference committee

A House and Senate Conference Committee agreed on a house proposal to lower the amount of money for K through twelve education to meet the deficit.

The House bill calls for One Hundred Seventy Five million dollars to fund the school foundation formula.

House bill sponsor Chuck Graham of Columbia says the legislature must find a way to pay for the foundation formula now that the bill is out of conference committee.

Contents: We need to pass that bill. We need to go into budget. We need to alocate it in budget and we need to pass other revenue enhancement bills that are in both chambers right now and pass enough of them that we can fully fund the 175 million dollars.

Columbia representative Chuck Graham, the house bill's sponsor says the biggest difference between the house and senate bills was how much schools should get.
