Proposed changes to security at the state Capitol aren't making their way into the budget.
Johnathan Woodward has more from Jefferson City.
Congress passed legislation in November that requires airports to use federal security staff instead of private screeners.
Governor Holden wants the opposite to happen at the state capitol.
That's because park rangers and water patrol officers have been watching capitol entrances since September 11th.
But with summer on the way, those officers will need to head back to the great outdoors--and the governor says he wants private security to take their place.
State representative Charles Troupe of St. Louis has some issues with that idea:
The House budget committee has rejected funding for the governor's plan.
