The Missouri Senate has killed a House resolution that would have prevented a pay raise for lawmakers. Karyn Dest has more from Jefferson City.
By a voice vote, the Missouri Senate sent a resolution back to the House that would have rejected a salary increase. The catch? The House had already adjourned and wouldn't be back before Wednesday's midnight deadline.
St. Louis County Democrat John Schneider said the debate over the pay raise was costing important legislative time.
Lawmakers can adopt the pay increases as part of an appropriations plan later in this legislative session.
