Governor Holden says Missouri could be the target of a terrorist attack.
In a Wednesday morning press conference, the Governor said Missouri is in an important national position.
To deal with the terrorist threat, Holden announced he has hired a retired army colonel to review the state's emergency response plans.
Holden said Missouri is the first state in the nation to take such a step.
Timothy Daniel will recieve a 100-thousand-dollar-a-year salary to be Missouri's terrorism czar.
Daniel says he will keep in close contact with the governor.
And one state agency plans to ramp up its efforts to prepare for terrorism.
Maureen Dempsey, the Director of the Department of Health, says her department will be ready to detect and respond to biological terrorism quickly.
