Missouri is scheming money away from the federal medicaid program according to a federal audit.
The federal governement is threatening to take away medicaid money from the state, saying they wrongly redistributed money to pay back hospitals for a tax. But according to Representative Lana Ladd Baker, the house committee chariman of social services, medicaid and the elderly, the state has been aware of the situation.
Ladd Baker said the state is following federal guidelines using federal money. But she said the way the money is redistributed upsets the federal goverment.
Ladd Baker said Thomas Scully, federal administrator for the Medicaid program, wants to come up with a way to solve the state's Medicaid problem, but Baker says she is not worried and is confident the state will continue to receive the money from the goverment.
