Some of Missouri's Democratic Senators are mad because they say Senate President Pro Tem Peter Kinder is trying to make the Senate Staff partisan. Sara Lane has more from Jefferson City.
Kinder hired Rob Monsees as his Policy Director, shortly after firing a non-partisan Senate Research Director.
The Democratic Caucus says Monsees is a Republican operative and Kinder is trying to make the Senate staff partisan.
Kinder says he hired Monsees from his own office budget to do a legitimate job.
Senator Ken Jacobs says Kinder should be replaced because he is turning the Senate staff into a political propaganda machine.
State Democrats are riled up in Jefferson City because Senate President Pro Tem Peter Kinder has hired a new office staff person. Sara Lane has more from the Capitol.
Kinder hired Rob Monsees to coordinate the efforts of what Kinder calls an unprecedented number of interim committees.
But some Democratic senators say Monsees is part of Kinder's plan to make the Senate staff more partisan.
Senator Ken Jacob is so upset that he thinks Kinder should be replaced.
Kinder says he can defend the hiring and Jacob's attacks are unwarranted.
