Opening mail is becoming more dangerous for politicians after a leading member of the US Senate received a letter containing the Anthrax Disease.
Richard Jordan reports from Jefferson City.
A meeting will be held on Thursday for secretaries at the state capitol to discuss precautionary steps when handling suspicious mail.
The post office now requires state employees to go inside the building when picking up letters and packages.
It used to be collected off a loading dock outiside the building.

Officials at the state capitol are taking special steps as a result of the latest reports of Anthrax being sent to the leader of the U.S. Senate.

There will be a meeting for legislative staffers this week on handling what appears to be contaminated letters or packages.
Also, the deputy director of operations, Brad Werner, says Capitol Police will be notified of any suspicious mail.

There have not been any cases of contaminated packages at the capitol, but mail room employees are inspecting letters more carefully.
Prior to anthrax findings, all mail used to be picked up from a loading dock outside the post office.
Now state mail employees must go inside the building to collect all packages and letters sent to the capitol.
