Shortly after the Senate passes the redistricting plan, the House sends the map to the governor for approval.

The plan passed the House 117-37...but not without opposition.
Some Republican representatives from St. Louis county oppose taking Ladue, Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights out of Congressman Todd Akin's district and giving them to Congressman Lacy Clay.
St. Louis County Representative David Levin says this map breaks up communities and is not beneficial to Clay.
All congressmen except Akin have agreed to this map.
And, Akin has said he will not bring the map to court.

The plan passed in the House 117-37...though some representatives believe the map is unfair for St. Louis.
St. Louis County Representative David Levin says the map is not beneficial for Congressman Lacy Clay...the state's only black Congressman.
He says this will be the first time in 3 decades that the 1st district loses minority voters.
Levin also opposes keeping the suburbs of Ladue, Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights in the first district.
