A little more than a week after one of the bloodiest terrorist attacks in our nation's history, Missouri got a new leader of its National Guard.
Governor Holden said that it is more important than ever the National Guard has strong leadership and is prepared for what may come.
Holden appointed Colonel Dennis Shull, the current chief of staff of the Missouri National Guard.
Shull said the transition will be easy given that he has worked closely with the Adjutant General for almost three years.
The General said that eight members of the Missouri National Guard volunteered and have already left to join federal forces.
He doesn't know at this time how many more will be called into action.
