One drink too many might land drivers with a ticket on Saturday.
That's when a new Missouri law goes into effect, lowering the legal blood alcohol limit.
Robin Adkison from the Division of Highway Safety says similar legislation in other states has caused an eight-to-16 percent decrease in drunk driving crashes and deaths.
And, she says lawmakers passed the law with only the best intentions.
But, if the state hadn't passed the law it would have lost more than three-million dollars in federal highway construction money.
