Over the past week, accusations have flown over who will serve on the state's redistricting board. Now, the governor says he's nominated two people who, in his eyes, are Republican - that would be Allison Smith and Norman Harty ...
According to Holden, Smith and Harty were among a list of Republican names he got from other party-members throughout the statehouse.

So, it seems the state takes another step in the on-going process to redraw Missouri's election boundaries.

The governor said he worked hard to select replacements on the committee ...
The two replacements are Norman Harty and Allison Smith. But, while Holden says both nominees came from the mouths of Republicans, leadership of the Missouri Republican Party says they were never consulted about Harty or Smith. Still, they said they have no major problem with either of the two - only with the governor's failure to speak with them.

Both Allison Smith and Norman Harty must still be approved, but the Missouri Republican Party is already upset with the route the governor took in choosing the nominees. Scott Baker, Republican Party Communications Director, says the governor never contacted them ...
The governor says the list he looked at was made up of many of the names that other Republicans inside the capitol mentioned to him.
