A committee Taxpayers are closer to paying for the St. Louis Cardinals Stadium

St. Louis Taxpayers could be a step closer to paying to build a new St. Louis Cardinals stadium. Michelle Wirth has more from Jefferson City.

The bill would make St. Louis and Missouri taxpayers pay to build a new Cardinals stadium. The Senate committee reached an agreement with Cardinals owners allowing the money gained from the naming rights to go stadium maitenance and upkeep. Senator Gibbons, the head of the Senate committee dealing with the bill says the bill is not dead by any means.

What were trying to do in the committee is address that if something is going to pass weÿ20want to do something that's a good position a reasonable position for the taxpayers. And I believe that we can achieve that.

Gibbons says that the Senate Committee hopes to vote on the bill by next Tuesday.


There are still plenty of Innings left for the St. Louis Cardinals bill in the Missouri Senate, according to the bill's sponsor. Michelle Wirth has more from Jefferson City.

With only seven weeks left in this years legislative session, there's concern whether the Cardinals Bill will make it out of the ballpark. Senator John Scott says there's still plenty of time to get the bill passed.

The bill is currently in committee. If it passes, it could face a Missouri Senate vote by
