Nixon sues website

If you wanted to sell your vote online to the highest bidder Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon says no. Nixon filed a lawsuit against vote-auction.com taking it temporarily offline. Michelle Wirth has more from Jefferson City.

The Austrian based web site allowed US citizens to sell their vote to the highest bidder. Attorney General spokesman Scott Holste says hundreds of Missouri voters promised to sell their votes.

Contents: We wanted to put a stop to the claims that this was a legal business. So we went to court on Wednesday and received a temporary restraining order.

A hearing will be held later this month to determine whether the site will be shut down permanently. Wisconsin, Illinois, and Massachusetts have also taken legal action against vote-auction.com. From Jefferson City, I'm Michelle Wirth.
