Republican's react to Jean Carnahan's decision

The state's top Republican says John Ashcroft's campaign will stay the same despite Jean Carnahan's announcement. Aaron Cummins has more from Jefferson City--

Jean Carnahan announced from her family's home in Rolla that she will accept an appointment to the Senate if her late-husband is elected.

Meanwhile, Republicans touted John Ashcroft's experience as a selling-point for the incumbent senator.

Missouri Republican Party Director John Hancock says Ashcroft did the right thing by suspending his campaign.
