Stewart was given a package of benefits that nears a million dollars when he retired last year.

Half of that comes from a consulting contract with the University.

But, Auditor Claire McCaskill says the problem is the University isn't protected if Stewart decides not to do the work.

Contents: McCaskill says if Stewart decides to walk away, the University would have to try to recover the money because Stewart was paid before he did any work.

McCaskill says that would mean a difficult court battle.

The University responded by saying they had faith in Stewart to fulfill the contract when it was written.

And, they also released a long list of Stewart's current duties at MU... mostly fund-raising activities.
