Another plan to help the financially-troubled Francis-Howell school district was added to an unrelated education bill today/Wednesday. Aaron Cummins has that story from Jefferson City--
The district took $3.5 million dollars more than it should have from the state over two years.
St. Charles Senator Ted House sponsored the amendment.
His plan would give the district five years to pay the money back instead of paying it all in one lump sum.
He says that plan would be best for the district.
The problem arose when the district counted half-day kindergarten students as full-day students.

A plan to help the money-troubled Francis-Howell school district was once again added to an unrelated education bill. Aaron Cummins has more from Jefferson City--
The plan would allow the district to repay the $3.5 million it owes the state over five years instead of in one lump sum.
St. Charles Senator Ted House says he's got quite an interest in the success of the district.
House says his plan would allow the district to get back on its feet without punishing the students.
The mistake in funding arose when the district counted each half-day kindergarten student as a full student.
House says the blame lies with the administration and the people who made the mistake are gone.
