Several members of the House Children and Families committee, have expressed skepticism over a proposal that would outlaw childcare facilities on riverboat casinos.
Raytown representative Ralph Monaco said the committee should make sure they are not outlawing daycare centers at other facilities before they pass the bill.
But Missouri Family Network Representative Kerry Messer says he is concerned about any business, particularly gambling, that operates a childcare center.

St. Charles representative Charles Gross says he thinks it is inappropriate to have children present in a gambling environment.
Gross has introduced a bill that would outlaw daycare facilities from riverboat casinos in Missouri. He says children may be negatively affected if they are kept in close proximity to the casino floor.
The bill is currently in front of the House Children and Families committee. Gross said that in light of several concerns the committee has raised, he would be open to amending the proposal before sending it to the floor. From the state capitol, I'm Francine Krantz.
