A bill sponsored by Senator Harry Wiggins would eliminate sales tax on purchases of coffins and caskets.
Wiggins says the bill would help provide relief for people when they need it most.
Wiggins says the bill will be voted on in the Senate Ways and Means Committee in about 2 weeks.

There's good news from the Missouri Senate for those concerned about the high cost of dying.
A proposed Senate bill would eliminate sales tax on coffins and caskets.
Sherry Anderson heads the Missouri Funeral Directors Association.
She says her group supports the bill because it would provide tax relief for all Missourians.
The bill will go into effect in August if it passes both houses of the General Assembly.
