The special legislative session called by Governor Carnahan is scheduled to focus on two primary issues -- the Branson Tourism Tax and portions of the Economic Development Bill previously vetoed by Carnahan. Governor Carnahan's chief spokesman, Chris Sifford, provides details on the agenda:

OC: "...that will be discussed as well."
Contents: The Branson Tourism Tax, thrown out by the Supreme Court, must be rewritten and several economic programs previously included in the vetoed Economic Development Bill must be passed.

If the legislative agenda doesn't change, a smooth week is expected. On the other hand, if controversial proposals like partial birth abortion are added to the agenda, one week may not be enough.
