Anti-abortion legislators scored a first round victory against abortion. Denise Jackson has the story from Jefferson City.
At the assistance of anti-abortion forces, the house accepted an amendment to the health care budget that would keep state money for family planning from going to Planned Parenthood.
Instead, the money would go to city and county health clinics, which cannot perform abortions in Missouri.
Kansas City representative Mary Bland says this legislation cuts into women's health care.
Opponents also claim that anti-abortion legislators are just trying to keep money from going to Planned Parenhood as a way to block abortions in Missouri.
From Jefferson city, I'm Denise Jackson.
