Republicans are one step closer to taking majority control on the house floor.
Allison Girvin has the story from Jefferson City.
In a special election, Republican David Klint won a northern Missouri seat, and brought House Republicans one seat closer to gaining majority control.
The victory increased GOP seats to 76, just six seats short of what Republicans need to push the Democrats into the minority.
Spokesman for the Republican party Daryl Duwe (dewey) says this win is just a first of many more to come.
Klindt, a farmer from Bethany, will be the new represenative for Davies, Grundy, Harrison, Mercer and Sullivan Counties.
