The anti-abortion bill sponsor says he's rejected the governor's proposal for a less restrictive ban on partial birth abortions.

South-east Missouri Republican Senator Peter Kinder says he's got an excellent chance next week to override the governor's veto.

Kinder says abortion experts support his position against the governor's proposal to allow the procedure if necessary to protect the mother's health:

Kinder says there is a chance of getting as high as 30 Senate votes in next Wednesday's veto session...that's seven more than needed. He says if the Senate overrides the bill, the House will likely follow.
