A rapist will no longer have parental rights if one Missouri Lawmaker has her way. Rebecca Rausch has the details from Jefferson City.
Passed out of committee, the bill will terminate the parental rights of a convicted rapist in the case where a child is born as a result of the rape.
Sponsor of the bill, State Representative Cindy Ostman says the bill would eliminate the chance for the biological father to come back and expect visitation or custody rights.
This is one of the first bills in the nation of this sort to be proposed.
From the State Capitol, I'm Rebecca Rausch.
