In the midst of all the tax cuts missouri lawmakers are contemplating, they heard an unusual plea...the father of a dead daughter urged lawmakers to make it cheaper to bury a loved.

John Kellett supports a bill that would eliminate the sales tax on coffins and vaults.
He spent over 3000 dollars on a coffin and vault when his daughter died.
He also had to pay over 200 dollars in taxes.
Kellett wants coffins to be treated like pharmaceuticals...which are not taxed.
But opponents of the bill say since people are taxed all their lives, it is fitting that there be a farewell tax.
