An election for House Speaker only intensified frustration in the House as Black Caucus members voided the election with their lack of votes. Karen Fogg has the story from the State Capitol:
A vote was taken, but nobody won.
Eleven Democrats refused to cast their vote in either direction. Five others voted Republican.
That left Republican nominee Mark Richardson with the lead over Democrat Sam Leake. But neither man had a majority of the full House.
Richardson blasted House Speaker Bob Griffen for refusing to step down so they can move forward.
Griffen's response was that he's just trying to have an election, and he says he won't continue until a new speaker is elected.Reporting from the Capitol, I'm Karen Fogg.
