With Election of a new House Speaker, the man who's served in that job longer than anyone else is moving to private life.
Adrienne Boff-Man has the story from Jefferson City.
Relieved and pointing to the "Free at Last" button on his lapel, Bob Griffin took some deep breaths and talked about his reign as the former Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives.
Griffin agrees his post was powerful- and he wants it to stay that way.
The Cameron Democrat says he'll hang on to his House seat for a while and says he'd like to work on the project to automate Missouri's court systems.
Griffin called Speaker-Elect Steve Gaw an "excellent choice" and praised the current unity of the Democratic Caucus which up until Gaw's election--was in chaos.
