The Show-Me state says goodbye to those ugly maroon license plates. Brian Higgins has more from the Capitol.
Beginning in January 1997, cars in Missouri will be a little brighter - due to the new license plates unveiled at the Capitol. The new plates are white with shades of blue and will be on all vehicles, including trucks. Owners will be issued the new plates after renewing their registration or with the purchase of a new car. Jefferson County Senator Bill McKenna helped to design the new plates.
McKenna also says the new plates will be recyclable because they are made out of aluminum. And for those concerned, the Show-Me State will still be printed on all plates.
From the Capitol, I'm Brian Higgins.
