The House voted in favor of the most restrictive lobby reform bill in Missouri history, without debate. Jack Doaln has the story Jefferson City.
If the house bill becomes law, legislators will be forbidden from taking even a ten dollar gift from lobbyists. Lawmakers would also be prohibited from working as lobbyists for one year after leaving office.
Also, lobbyists testifying before legislative committees would have to do so under oath.
Bill sponsor Greg Canuteson, from the Kansas City area, likens the legislative process to a court of law.
The bill now heads to the senate where a less restrictive lobbyist reform rule affecting only the senate has already been adopted.
From Jefferson City, I'm Jack Dolan.
