The bill would allow liquor wholesalers to package and sell their products with nonalcoholic products. For example, a bottle of vodka could be sold with a jar of orange juice. Bill sponsor Bill McKenna says federal laws already allow these sales, and so do several other states.
McKenna's bill also raises the dollar amount wholesalers can spend on promotional displays used by retailers from $250 to $500.
The bill met opposition in the Senate and passed by a narrow 20-12 margin. From Jefferson City, Candyce Clifft, KMOX News.
