Family farmers and the Sierra Club have teamed up to fight the hog industry in Missouri. Candyce Clifft has that story from Jefferson City...
Since August, there have been nine manure spills at hog factories in Missouri, killing over 200,000 fish. Farmers gathered at the capitol urging legislators to take action. Terry Spence, a farmer in Lincoln Township, says hog factories must be more responsible.
No legislation has been filed, but Representative Gary Wiggins says he is willing to sponsor parts of the farmers' proposal. Wiggins' office is researching the issue. From the state capitol, I'm Candyce Clifft.
