Speeding on Missouri highways may soon be a more serious crime. Candyce Clifft reports from Jefferson City...
As a result of prosecutors' complaints, the Senate has given first round approval to make speeding a misdemeanor. This measure would undo last year's law making speeding an infraction.
Bill sponsor, Senator Harold Caskey, says the misdemeanor charge gives judges the power to issue arrest warrants for those who fail to appear in court.
The Senate must approve the measure in a final vote before sending it to the House. From the state capitol, I'm Candyce Clifft.
