Ronnie White is Governor Mel Carnahan's choice to fill the vacancy on the Missouri Supreme Court. The post became available when Judge Elwood Thomas died.

White, a St. Louis Court of Appeals Judge from St. Louis, is the first black to serve on the court.

Recently, White shared some of his views on affirmative action with Capitol Edition's Adrienne BOFF-Man.

At 42, White's the youngest on the Supreme Court.

Potentially, he could end up serving for 28 years.

If he's picked as Chief Justice, he'll be in a powerful position to select judges in Missouri.

Meanwhile, White says he'll continue his private study on race relations.
