Women have never held the top positions in the Missouri House. For the second time since October, they are trying to change that. Candyce Clifft has that story from Jefferson City...
Callaway County Representative, Gracia Backer, has announced she will run for House Majority Floor Leader. Assistant Floor Leader, Gary Crump, has announced his candidacy, and questions the motive of the women supporting Backer...
Crump says he wants to be judged on his merits as a representative rather than his gender. He also says if he isn't elected Floor Leader, he will not resign as the assistant. Crump says the Democrats will vote for the new leader in December.
From the state capitol, I'm Candyce Clifft.
